The Astronauts recently disbanded because our members are now scattered throughout the country. Even though we are no longer together we would like to share some of our memories and good times with you through this virtual scrapbook! Also check out the links on lounge music.

Brief history of the Astronauts:
The Astronauts began playing at Friends and Co. in December of 1997. The band was put together to bring the sounds of the 1950s and 60s space age lounge to Charleston. They started playing regularly for Martini Mondays and eventually started playing other venues including Top of the Roc and The Uptowner as well as various out of town gigs. The Astronauts played at The Dungeon for a special Halloween show in 1998. They recorded their record in Champaign at Pogo Studio in September of 1998. The record was released in February of 1999. Click here to order a copy. They ended their tenure with a bang with a surprise show at Friends and Co. on August 28, 1999. Then they did their final final show at the Laurel Motors company picnic on Aug. 29. Congratulations and good luck to all the members of the Astronauts.
